Bags of Love Gives Back
Showing Love in the Toughest of Times
This project was inspired by the growing number of children in our community who are displaced due to poverty, neglect, abuse, etc. Child Protective Services must find foster homes for thousands of children per year in Kentucky, with dozens of homes needed in each county to take in each child.

Many times when children are placed in out-of-home care, they must be moved immediately, and arrive to their foster home with no clothes, toiletries, or other essential items, not to mention toys, books, or even their favorite blanket, etc. Not only have these children lost their family and home, but they literally have nothing of their own. Though we can not replace all that they have lost, we can help make their lives a little brighter.
About
Bags of Love is a charitable organization dedicated to providing for displaced children, with the help of our community members and in cooperation with the many other charitable organizations in our area. Bags of Love helps provide items to care for the immediate needs of these children, including a handmade quilt, sewn with love by our amazing volunteers!
Ways We Help
Bags of Love provides a bag of necessities and other items to children entering foster care in Marshall County, Kentucky, and some of the surrounding counties. We do so by partnering directly with the Child Protective Services in Lakes Region. We also take requests for bags from families with relative placements, such as grandparents raising their grandchild, and those who have had a displacement due to a natural disaster, house fire, etc.
The contents of each bag are customized for the age and needs of the individual child, but all contain:

Toys, puzzles, fun items

Books, coloring books, crayons

School age receive school supplies

Infants receive diapers/wipes
Bags of Love partners with other organizations to provide gently used or new clothing, but may also provide new clothing or gift cards for clothing on a case-by-case basis.
Donate
Your donations help to provide essential items and loving gifts to children in need. Here is how you can help:
