About Us

Bags of Love is a charitable organization dedicated to providing for displaced children, with the help of our community members and in cooperation with the many other charitable organizations in our area.

 

This project was inspired by the growing number of children in our community who are displaced due to poverty, neglect, abuse, etc.

​

Child Protective Services must find foster homes for thousands of children per year in Kentucky, with dozens of homes needed in each county to take in each child.

​

Many times when children are placed in out-of-home care, they must be moved immediately, and arrive to their foster home with no clothes, toiletries, or other essential items, not to mention toys, books, or even their favorite blanket, etc.

​

Not only have these children lost their family and home, but they literally have nothing of their own. Though we can not replace all that they have lost, we can help make their lives a little brighter.

 

Bags of Love helps provide items to care for the immediate needs of these children, including a handmade quilt, sewn with love by our amazing volunteers!

 

We provide services to children regardless of gender, race, national origin, age, disability, sexual identity, or religion.

 

We look forward to working with all groups interested in the care of our most vulnerable citizens.
